Air Quality Advisory Continues for Cumberland
Posted on
UPDATE: As of November 9, 2017, the air quality advisory is ended.
The Ministry of Environment, in collaboration with Island Health, is continuing the Air Quality Advisory for the Comox Valley because of high concentrations of fine particulates that are expected to persist until weather conditions change. This advisory applies to Cumberland.
Persons with chronic underlying medical conditions should postpone strenuous exercise until the advisory is lifted.
Open burning, including recreational burning, is not permitted during the advisory. Residents are also asked to restrict the use of wood stoves and fireplaces, except those that are the sole heating source.
