We’re kicking off BC Family Day weekend in style on Friday, February 14 with a full day of free family activities. The kids are off school on a Pro-D day, so bring them down to the Cumberland Recreation Centre and have a blast!
(Please note that children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian during all activities.)
FREE FAMILY TOT GYM (9:15 – 10:30 am)
We’ll have the tot gym all set to go with climbing structures, ride-on toys, books, trucks and more. Plus, Samantha will be on hand to facilitate some other fun activities throughout the morning. Ages 0-6 with an adult
FREE FAMILY SPORTS (10:45 am – 12:00 pm)
Join us in the gymnasium for indoor soccer, floor hockey, basketball, pickleball and more. Activity selection will be dictated by attendants, and referee Sam will be watching closely to ensure fairness and fun! Ages 7-14 with an adult
FREE FAMILY NERF BATTLES (12:30 – 2:30 pm)
It’s what you’ve been waiting for, Cumberland . . . Battle it out in a variety of formats, like capture the flag, side battles and battle royale. You bring your favourite blaster and we’ll provide the ammunition (Elite and Rival rounds only – please don’t bring Mega blasters). We’ll have a limited number of blasters on hand for those who don’t bring their own, and we’ll provide protective eyewear for all participants. Parents, we encourage your participation as well — as if we have to! Ages 6-13 with an adult
FREE FAMILY CLIMBING & OPEN GYM (5:15 – 7:00 pm)
A fun climbing session for the whole family. Our wall staff will help with belaying if you don’t have a certified belay partner, and rental gear is available at no cost. While the climbers climb, the rest of the gymnasium is available for families and children to play. All ages
FREE ’80s PROM-THEMED ROLLER SKATE (7:00 – 8:45)
