Cumberland Recreation Code of Conduct
As a patron of Cumberland Recreation, I agree to . . .
- wear clean and appropriate footwear and activewear;
- refrain from dropping weights, swearing or otherwise behaving in a disruptive manner;
- treat all patrons, staff and others with respect;
- wipe down all equipment after use;
- use equipment in a safe and proper manner and ask staff for assistance if needed;
- return all equipment to its proper location when finished;
- keep floors clean and clear of trip hazards, and use supplied hooks for personal items;
- bring no food, gum or candy into the fitness studio or other recreation areas;
- limit time on cardio machines to 30 minutes when others are waiting; and
- report any damaged or malfunctioning equipment to staff.
Cumberland Recreation will not tolerate verbal or physical abuse of any kind
Cumberland Recreation Discipline Policy
If any patron engages in behaviour contrary to the Cumberland Recreation Code of Conduct or any other relevant rules, the following steps will be taken:
- Upon the first violation, the patron will be given a verbal warning and a note will be added to his or her account.
- Upon a second violation, a written warning will be issued and a note will be added to his or her account.
- Upon a third violation, the patron may be issued a one-week suspension from Cumberland Recreation facilities with no reimbursement or compensation.
- Upon subsequent violations, further disciplinary actions may be initiated based at the discretion of the Manager of Parks & Recreation and/or the Recreation & Culture Supervisor.
