Council approves Scope of Work for Upcoming OCP Review
Posted on
At its meeting of September 12, 2012, Cumberland Council directed staff to issue a request for proposals for a consultant to undertake a revise and review of the Village’s Official Community Plan bylaw.
An OCP is a statement of objectives that guides local government decision-making for planning and land use management with regards to sustainable growth, economic development and the environment. An OCP is generally reviewed every five years to meet the community’s current vision, goals and objectives. The Village’s current OCP was adopted in 2004 and is overdue for review.
Preference will be given to proposals that meet this Scope of Work approved by Council. The Scope of Work includes a five stage public consultation process which is expected to begin in late fall of 2012.
