BYLAW NO. 1020

A bylaw to provide for remuneration to members of council.

The Council of the Corporation of the Village of Cumberland, in open meeting assembled, enacts as follows:

  1. This Bylaw may be cited as “Council Remuneration Bylaw No. 1020, 2015.”
  1. The mayor shall be paid an annual remuneration in the following amount in the year indicated:
2015: $ 15,605
2016: $ 16,229
2017: $ 16,878
2018: $ 17,553
2019: $ 18,255
  1. Each councillor shall be paid an annual remuneration in the following amount in the year indicated:
2015: $ 8,388
2016: $ 8,724
2017: $ 9,073
2018: $ 9,436
2019: $ 9,813
  1. The remuneration for the mayor and each councillor shall be increased on January 1st in each year following 2019 by a rate equivalent to any annual percentage increase in the consumer price index for British Columbia over the immediately preceding year.
  1. One third of the remuneration established by this bylaw shall be deemed to be an allowance for expenses incidental to the discharge of duties of the office.
  1. “The Corporation of the Village of Cumberland Council Remuneration Bylaw No. 925, 2009,” as amended, is repealed.
