Cumberland Library

The Cumberland library is operated by the Vancouver Island Regional Library system.

The library is located at 2746 Dunsmuir Avenue. The phone number is (250) 336-8121.

Construction began on a new Cumberland Branch in late 2012. The new library is almost three and half times larger than the old branch. The Cumberland Branch opened its doors in October 2013. Read more about our new library.

Library Board

The Village of Cumberland is a member of the Vancouver Island Regional Library District Board. Cumberland Council appoints a council member to represent the Village on the Board of Trustees each December.

The Board is governed by the BC Library Act and must approve a budget each year for which the Village must collect property tax revenue through its annual property tax bylaw.
