Dogs Must be On-Leash in Public Places

Posted on

Please remember that dogs must be on-leash in all public places, including parks, trails, sidewalks, and residential areas.

Keeping your dog on a leash will reduce the chances of your dog becoming involved in a conflict with other dogs or people. It may also reduce the chances of your dog provoking defensive behaviour from black bears.

Also, please remember that dogs are not permitted in Village park except in the off-leash dog park off Sixth Street. This helps keep Village Park safe and clean for everyone.

Having your dog off-leash could lead to a fine of $50 to $200.
