Garbage is collected every second week from all residences in Cumberland and weekly for commercial/industrial clients.
Garbage collection is limited to one garbage container per residential unit.

Garbage collection is limited to one garbage can per residential unit. You can purchase additional bag tags for $2 each from the Village office and from Cumberland Recreation. Find operating hours for the Village Office and Cumberland Recreation.
Containers
Solid waste containers can be up to 77 litres in size and when filled must weigh less than 22kg (50lb).

Waste Diversion
What can’t be included in your residential curbsite garbage collection:
- yard waste and kitchen organics
- household recyclables
- household hazardous waste
- flammable waste
- raw sewage or septic tank sludge
- demolition and construction waste
- ashes
- dead animals
- oversized items
- biomedical and pathological waste
