Garbage Collection

This page was last reviewed on December 12, 2024.

Garbage is collected every second week from all residences in Cumberland and weekly for commercial/industrial clients.

Garbage collection is limited to one garbage container per residential unit.

Extra Garbage?

Garbage collection is limited to one garbage can per residential unit. You can purchase additional bag tags for $2 each from the Village office and from Cumberland Recreation. Find operating hours for the Village Office and Cumberland Recreation.

Containers

Solid waste containers can be up to 77 litres in size and when filled must weigh less than 22kg (50lb). All containers should have lids to prevent rain water from saturating solid waste. Lids prevent ‘sloshing’ once the waste is picked up and keep it from spilling out when the truck is completing pick up.

Collection Schedules

Find collection schedules on the Solid Waste Services page and contact information if your collection was missed.
