Council passed the Marijuana-Related Business License Regulation Bylaw No. 1040 and the Business License Amendment Bylaw No. 1037, and approved the Medical Marijuana Dispensaries Policy on November 14, 2016. These regulations paved the way for the Village to consider licensing medical marijuana dispensaries.
There are three items required: a Temporary Use Permit application, a medical marijuana business license application, and an application fee. The deadline for accepting applications to open a medical marijuana dispensary in Cumberland closed on Monday, January 16, 2017.

Give Your Feedback
The Village is requesting community feedback by August 1, 2016 on whether to permit medical marijuana dispensaries, and if so, under what conditions.
The MEDICAL MARIJUANA SURVEY is now closed.
The comments collected in the survey and other feedback will be summarized and provided to Council at its meeting on August 8, 2016. Check the agenda for this meeting after August 5, 2016 to view the staff report.
Over the summer and fall of 2016, staff will be developing a policy for Council’s consideration to set out what conditions under which Council would consider permitting medical marijuana dispensaries. This would include land use conditions, such as distance to a public school, and business licence regulations, such as security, signage, hours of business, etc. View the June 27, 2016 staff report for background information
An open house was held on July 19, 2016 but you can still provide feedback by completing the survey online or at the Village office by August 1, 2016.
