The Village of Cumberland has been recognized as a ‘Climate Action Community’ by the joint Provincial-UBCM Green Communities Committee and awarded Level 3 recognition – ‘Achievement of Carbon Neutrality’ – for our efforts to reduce corporate greenhouse gas emissions. CAC-logo2014-CN-CMYK-print

As a signatory to the Climate Action Charter, Cumberland has demonstrated a commitment to work with the Province and UBCM to take action on climate change and to reduce greenhouse gas emissions within corporate operations and throughout the community.

Climate change is a global challenge. The work that Cumberland has undertaken to measure and reduce its corporate emissions demonstrates strong climate leadership and sets the stage for broader climate action in the community. This leadership and commitment is essential to ensuring the achievement of collective climate action goals.
