Financial Assistance Available to Qualifying Claimants for Flood Damage

Emergency Management BC is accepting applications for disaster financial assistance for qualified claimants who are unable to obtain insurance to cover disaster-related property and content losses caused by flooding from December 8-12, 2014.

Provincial Disaster Financial Assistance (DFA) has been authorized for qualifying claimants, such as homeowners, residential tenants, small business owners, farmers, and charitable organizations who were unable to obtain insurance to cover these disaster-related losses.

All applicants should first check with their insurance agent to determine if their current insurance policy provides coverage for the resulting damage.
