Highlights of the proposed budget include:

  • grant of $18,750 to the Cumberland Museum and Archives
  • grant of $7,990 to the Empire Events Society for public works services and facility use
  • a grant of $10,000 per year for 2015 and 2016 to the Cumberland Community School Society for the youth centre
  • $5,000 grant for a Visitor Experience Survey for economic development purposes
  • new recreation fitness equipment including new spin bikes
  • new bus shelter at Peace Park
  • Ultraviolet sterilization water treatment
  • Cumberland #2 dam seismic stabilization
  • Sewer replacement in the lane north of Windermere between Second Street and Fifth Street
  • Water line replacement on Allen Avenue
  • Bevan Road reconstruction from landfill to Wellington Street
  • Design for Cumberland Road reconstruction from Bevan Road to Inland Island Highway for construction in 2016 and 2017
  • Dunsmuir Avenue Corridor (between Second and Seventh Street) water, sewer, storm and road project at a project cost of $2.77 million, subject to a senior government grant
