Posted on

The United Riders of Cumberland (UROC) and the Village have joined forces to host the North Shore Mountain Bike Association (NSMBA) Trail Builder Academy on May 29 and 30, 2015 in the Village.

The acclaimed workshop teaches modern techniques to assess, build, and maintain mountain bike trails focused on long term sustainability and a positive user experience. The workshop will be lead by NSMBA’s Program Manager Mark Wood, who has years of experience working on trails on the North Shore of Vancouver.

Friday May 29th will feature a three hour classroom workshop in Village Council Chambers, beginning at 6:45pm. Saturday May 30th will be spent in the field applying the lessons learned the previous evening to Cumberland’s trails (location TBD).

Registration opens on May 6th by calling Cumberland Recreation at 250-336-2231. The course is free, but for insurance purposes participants must be a member of UROC. There is limited space so register soon!
