Council Proposes Amendments to Current South Sewer Option

Posted on

After receiving public input at the May 28, 2015 Committee of the Whole meeting, Council decided to propose amendments to the current south sewer project project.

The current option chosen by the Comox Valley Regional District’s liquid waste management plan (LWMP) calls for the disposal of treated effluent at Cape Lazo, rather than to Baynes Sound, which was the original option proposed. The change in disposal location increases the capital cost of the project from $49 million to $57.5 million.
