Recreational Trail Access Restrictions to Private Lands Lifted

Posted on

Recreational access restrictions for hiking and mountain biking trails on private lands in the Village of Cumberland have been lifted by the landowners.

Users are reminded that despite recent rainfall and decreased wildfire hazard ratings, fire prevention and increased awareness remains critical due to the continued high drought code conditions. Report signs of wildfire immediately to 9-1-1 or *5555 on your cell phone.

Trail users are also asked to avoid the Trent River Mainline and other forestry roads in that vicinity from Monday to Friday from 5 am to 6 pm due to active logging operations in the area.

For more information on this and trail access to private lands, see the United Riders of Cumberland Facebook page.

Cumberland community parks and trails remain open to the public.
