The BC Museum Association has awarded the Chinese Canadian Artifacts Project (CCAP) an Award of Merit for 2016. This award is for “an outstanding, innovative or creative achievement in the museum, gallery, archives or heritage resource field in BC.”
Michelle Willard and Anna Rambow attended the Association’s annual Gala Reception and Dinner in Whistler on October 13, 2016 to accept the award on behalf of the CCAP.
The CCAP is a collaboration between the University of Victoria and sixteen museums on Vancouver Island and the mainland, to create a public database of Chinese Canadian holdings. The Cumberland Museum and Archives was one of two pilot museums participating in the project. The project began in 2014, and the database was launched in July 2016.
Cumberland has over 1200 Chinese Canadian-related items, which were digitized and added to the database.
Congratulations to the Cumberland Museum and Archives! Thank you for advancing this valuable initiative to share Cumberland and Chinese Canadian heritage.Search again
