Skatepark to Open Wednesday July 5th

Posted on

The NEW Village Park Skatepark is scheduled to officially open on Wednesday July 5th!

In the meantime, construction crews are still active and the site remains closed to the public. Please stay out of the construction site and obey posted signage.

The new facility is 5500 square feet of skateable concrete terrain, expertly shaped into bowl, street and mini-ramp zones. An additional flow zone connecting the mini-ramp to the street section was added during the late stages of construction.

Upon opening, please access the site via the walkways and do not walk on hydroseeded areas until the grass has time to become established.

A Ribbon Cutting Ceremony will take place in mid-July, while a Grand Opening Celebration for both the Jump Park and Skatepark is planned for September. Check back to Cumberland.ca for details.

Jump Park Update: while the skatepark is set to open on July 5th, the Jump Park remains under construction and heavy equipment continues to be active on site. Please stay out of the construction area and obey all posted signs and fences. The Jump Park is on track to open mid-July and updates will be posted as construction nears completion. Thank you for your understanding.
