Jump Park Now Open!

Posted on

The Village Park Dirt Jump Park is now officially open to the public! Fencing remains in place to discourage foot and bicycle traffic from entering hyrdroseeded areas. Please obey posted signage and give the grass time to establish – it will help stabilize jumps and make the park look great! Final construction tasks remain ongoing, including shaping of some of the features and the pump track, please watch for equipment operating and follow the instructions from crews still working on site.

The park consists of four dirt jump trails rated beginner through to expert, in addition to a pump track. The trails are designed to increase in difficulty as riders progress.

While the Village will take care of some of the park maintenance, riders are also expected to help take care of the park and preserve the trails. Hoses are available on site and we encourage all users to keep the dirt on the trails moist, which will help them stand up to traffic and please do not walk on lips and landings, or cut through the jump trails.

Village Council will be hosting a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony to mark the opening of both the skatepark and jump park on Wednesday July 19th at 5pm and all members of the community are invited to attend. A community celebration will also be held in September – stay tuned to Cumberland.ca for more details to be announced closer to the date.
