The Rick Hansen Foundation (RHF) is offering two programs to help businesses and communities improve their accessibility.

The RHF Accessibility Certification (RHFAC) program offers assessments and ratings for commercial, institutional, and multi-family residential buildings and sites.

RHF is offering approximately 1,100 free RHFAC ratings of commercial, institutional, and multi-family residential buildings in BC until March 2019. For more information or to book a rating, view the webpage.

The BC Accessibility Grants Program is open to any non-profit or for-profit commercial, institutional, or multi-family residential site in BC that has completed an RHFAC rating. The program offers grants of up to $20 000 to improve accessibility.

  • Commercial spaces include retail shops, offices, industrial sites;
  • Institutional spaces include schools, parks and playgrounds, recreation centres, trails and pathways; and
  • Multi-family residential spaces include condominium entrances and shared common areas.
