Report Forest Fires to 911 or *5555 on Your Cell

Posted on

Cumberland Fire Rescue is asking Cumberlanders to keep their eyes open for smoke in town and in our surrounding forests.

Reporting fires early is key to wildfire suppression and keeping the Village safe. Report forest fires immediately to 911 or *5555 on your cell phone.

  • Please do not smoke in parks, trails, or anywhere in the forests
  • Use chainsaws and lawnmowers carefully at home
  • Cool hot motors and wheel bearings before storing away
  • Please do not ride dirt bikes or ATVs in the forest as exhaust sparks can light up dry brush
  • Distinguish cigarettes at home completely in a fire proof container

Campfires are not permitted until future notice.
