Orchard Park Work Party a Huge Success!
Posted on
The Village of Cumberland would like to thank the Rotary Club of Cumberland Centennial and the Comox Valley chapter of the Broombusters for all their hard work and enthusiasm at the recent Orchard Park Spring cleanup.
Over 20 volunteers helped clean up brush, remove scotch broom and other invasive plants, mow the grass and prune the fruit trees for another summer season.
Orchard Park is located at the west end of Dunsmuir Avenue (Camp Road). The Village acquired Orchard Park in the fall of 2012; prior to this, the local Rotary club lead maintenance and clean up of the orchard and surrounding area. The Rotary will continue to be involved in park maintenance and is excited to partner with the Village which will allow for greater community participation in maintaining the orchard.
