Special Parent & Tot Gym and Other Free Recreation Programs on May 10, 2016

Posted on

Join Cumberland Recreation on Tuesday, May 10th from 10 until 11:30 am for a special Parent and Tot Gym time celebration. In order to thank the Comox Valley Community Foundation and Success by Six for their generous donations to this program, Cumberland Recreation will be hosting a free and extra special Parent and Tot Gym time for toddlers (birth to 5 years) and their parents or caregivers.

There will be facilitators to supervise gymnastics equipment, lead parachute games and more. Allison, the VIRL child librarian, will lead songs and stories from 11 to 11:30 am. Fox & Bee Studio will also be there to capture some video for the Comox Valley Community Foundation.

The Parent and Tot Gym program provides tots with an opportunity to play and socialize while parents participate and connect with each other. The recent donations have allowed Cumberland Recreation to expand the capacity and quality of the program by purchasing a variety of universally accessible toys, create a quiet corner with a rug, books and infant toys as well as maintain the “by donation” fee structure.

This event is being held in conjunction with BCRPA Move for Health Day. This means that all fitness and yoga programs are free on May 10th as well! Join us for

  • Body Fit 50+ yrs (8:45 – 9:45 am),
  • Iyengar Yoga (11:15 am – 12:00 pm),
  • Pure Training Fitness (6:00 – 7:00 pm), and
  • Drop in Basketball (7:30 – 8:45 pm).

Cumberland Recreation acknowledges the financial support of BCRPA in offering these free “Move for Health Day” programs.
