Stage 2 Water Restrictions Effective August 3, 2021
Posted on
Stage 2 water restrictions will be in effect August 3, 2021 for users of the Cumberland and Royston water systems. Moving to Stage 2 will help conserve water to ensure sufficient supply through to the end of the summer.
Under Stage 2 restrictions, watering your lawn with a sprinkler is reduced to certain days and hours based on your civic address. Washing sidewalks, driveways, windows, and buildings is prohibited under most circumstances.
Address | Lawn Watering Permitted |
Even Numbered | Wednesday 4am – 10am and 7pm – 10pm |
Odd Numbered | Thursday 4am – 10am and 7pm – 10pm |
Effective August 3, 2021, the bike wash station in the Cumberland Recreation Centre parking lot will temporarily close. The closure will remain in effect for the duration of the Stage 2 Restrictions.
Meanwhile, the Village will continue to monitor water supply and weather forecasts, and should drought conditions continue, the hours of operation of the Village Park water spray park may be reduced in order to conserve water. Any changes will be posted to the website. In the meantime, the spray park will remain on normal hours of operation: 10am to 7pm, Victoria Day weekend to Labour Day.
We encourage everyone to use water wisely to help ensure that we have adequate drinking water and firefighting resources until the fall rain.
