Vacation Rental Survey Closes February 7, 2022
Posted on
The Village of Cumberland is reviewing its vacation rentals regulations and is seeking community input.
Residents and business owners are invited to take the short, 10-minute survey by February 7, 2022.
Over the past decade, the number of vacation rentals has grown significantly, raising concern about their impact on the availability of long-term rental housing in the Village. At the same time, as Cumberland does not have any hotels, vacation rentals play an important role in retaining tourists in Cumberland for over-night stays and visits to local businesses. For many tourists, vacation rentals are the preferred choice of accommodation.
The purpose of reviewing the vacation rentals regulations review is to understand their impact, both positive and negative, and to have a conversation about regulatory changes that balance the protection of long-term rental housing and the growth of a strong local tourism sector.
Complete the survey and keep informed as the project progresses.
