BC Transit launches UMO, a new way to pay your transit fare
Posted on
Umo is BC Transit’s new contactless fare payment system that allows you to pay for your fare with the payment method and fare product that best suits your lifestyle and travel habits. Cash will still be accepted as a payment method.
Umo is both a downloadable app and a free reloadable card. You get to decide which format works best for you. BC Transit does recommend the app if you have access to a mobile device as it is also has additional travel tools including real-time information, maps, and alerts.
The Village of Cumberland office has the free Umo reloadable cards available. The Village office is open 9-4, Mon-Fri and is located at 2675 Dunsmuir Ave.
Umo is operational in the Comox Valley, Victoria Regional, Cowichan Valley Regional, and Regional District of Nanaimo transit systems and awaiting implementation in 26 other transit systems.
