Festival Event, November 7-9

Posted on

A community event hosted by a local not for profit is taking place on the November 7-9 weekend in the Village core and Village Park.

Village staff have been working with the organizers to help ensure a safe and enjoyable event with minimal impact on residents. While most venues will be indoors, this year’s festival will also feature live entertainment at Village Square. Because it’s important to us that Village Square remain accessible to all residents, this stage will be open to the public with no admission required. Performance times will be constrained to what’s allowed under the Village’s Noise Control Bylaw, ending by 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and by 8 p.m. on Sunday.

The Village has also worked with event organizers to establish a permitted camping area for festival-goers at Village Park. The Park and Colliery trail will remain accessible to the public at all times, and a camping management plan is in place to once again minimize any impacts, including refuse and noise, on residents.

Festival organizers have also implemented a number of initiatives to promote safety and respectful behaviour among its participants, both independently and through community partnerships.
