Council was joined by local volunteers at No. 6 Mine Park on Monday April 28th to celebrate the opening of the new climbing boulder.
“This was a project that was truly championed by our community members, volunteers, and contractors; many of whom are with us today. I would like to thank each of you for your generous donations of time and resources to make this facility possible. I am sure climbers of all ages will appreciate having a facility such as this to train, practice and play on every single day,” said Mayor Vickey Brown prior to a formal ribbon cutting celebration.
Village of Cumberland would like to thank,
- AFC Construction who donated management, supervision, equipment, and materials;
- Cumberland Earthworks who contributed machinery and labour;
- Slegg who donated building materials
- NW Homes Ltd. and Lafarge who contributed gravel and key materials to the project, and
- Piotr Lutynski, whom we can thank for his vision and generosity in making the project happen!
