First Street Roads and Utilities

First Street, between Windermere and Penrith Avenue, is slated for a complete road rebuild and underground utility replacement. Highlights of this project include:

  • Approximately 150m of new storm and sanitary mains along First Street, as well as approximately 75m meters of storm and sanitary replacement work in the lane south Windermere.
  • New curb, gutter, sidewalks (on both sides of the street), formalized parking bays, crosswalks and pedestrian safety improvements along First Street from Windermere to Penrith Ave.
  • Reconfiguring the intersection of First Street and Windermere Avenue into a 4-way stop to alleviate traffic concerns during school pick up and drop off times.

Anticipated start time is early April 2026.
