Dog Licences

This page was last reviewed on November 14, 2013.

Dogs over three months of age must be licenced in the Village of Cumberland. Trained guide dogs do not require a licence.

Licences are valid from January 1 to December 31. Licenses for the coming year can be purchased starting November 1.

You can obtain a licence and dog tag at the Village Hall at 2673 Dunsmuir Avenue.

Dog licences help to ensure a safe return if your dog goes exploring, reduces fines and impound fees, and provides important data for the Village. The Village has more dogs licensed per capita than any other municipality in the Comox Valley.

Licence Fees

Spayed/neutered: $10

Unspayed/unneutered: $30

For more information on licensing, please see the Animal Control Bylaw or call the Village Office at 250-336-2291.
