Free Yard Debris Drop-off program

To support FireSmart Preparedness this Spring, the Comox Valley FireSmart™ Collaborative, in partnership with Vancouver Island Enterprises, is offering free yard debris drop off.

The free drop off will start April 1 until the end of May. This program is open to all residents of the Comox Valley.

Drop off details are as follows:

Location: 1200 Knight Road, Comox

Dates: April and May 2026

Time: Daily, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

*Note: This service is weather dependent.

This initiative allows residents to dispose of extra yard waste that may not fit in curbside containers, free of charge.

Accepted Materials: Leaves, grass clippings, branches up to 3 inches in diameter, plants. Materials can be loose or in paper yard waste bags.

Not Accepted: Food waste, plastic bags, rocks, or concrete, root balls, and stumps.

Invasive species: Are not accepted through this drop-off program. They can be disposed of at the Comox Valley Waste Management Centre. For a complete list: Invasive Plants & Alternatives | Comox Valley Regional District

Commercial Operators: Are not eligible to participate in this program.
