Noise Exemption for Special Event August 22-24

Residents please be advised that there will be lots of activity at and around Village Park this weekend as Comox Valley RibFest returns to Cumberland. The hours of the event are as follows:
- Friday Aug 22: 11 am – 9 pm
- Saturday, Aug 23: 11 am – 9 pm
- Sunday, Aug 24: 11 am – 7 pm
Organizers will begin event set-up at the park this Wednesday, August 20.
Comox Valley RibFest will feature ribbers preparing food onsite, as well as music from the mainstage. Village staff have worked with the organizers to minimize the impacts of this event on residents, including both noise and vehicle traffic. Event volunteers will direct event traffic to appropriate parking locations, and delineators will be used to discourage parking in unsanctioned areas. Professional security will be on site at all times during the event, and volunteer “hosts” will further aim to facilitate a harmonious experience.
The Village Park playground, splash park, sports courts, dog park and jump park will all remain open to the public throughout the event.
