Posted on
School District No.71 (SD71) and the Village of Cumberland are working collaboratively in identifying and selecting a licensed, experienced and qualified childcare service provider for the provision of childcare services at the future Cumberland Community School Child Care Facility.
The new Cumberland Child Care Facility will be a seventy-five-capacity facility (16 – 3-to 5-year-olds, 12 infant toddlers, 8 multi-age and 39 before and after school).
Programs and services are to be provided by a selected non-profit organization in compliance with licensing regulations and procedures, as well as an organization able to work with the District in applying for grants and seeking funding partners.
The RFP document is posted to BC Bid and any amendments or addendums will be posted to BC Bid at: Cumberland Community School Child Care – RFP 2022-002-053 .
The Village would also like to acknowledge the importance and value of all childcare services in the community. As per the Village’s Childcare Action Plan (2019), Cumberland currently is in need of an additional 300 childcare spaces. Once operational, the Cumberland Community School Child Care Facility is expected to address approximately 25% of the community’s current childcare needs.
