Road Construction Update
Posted on
Thanks to residents for everyone’s patience during these road reconstruction projects. Here is an update:
First Street from Dunsmuir to Penrith
Crews have been busy replacing the subbase at the First Street and Dunsmuir Avenue intersection as sections were found to have inadequate subgrade material.
Utility services are being replaced for the existing buildings along the block of First Street. The existing services were found to be in very poor condition and despite not currently leaking, the decision was made to have them replaced to avoid having to rip up the new surface infrastructure to make repairs in the future.
As of today, the concrete curbs are poured. Final paving is scheduled for June 3 and 4 and new sidewalks will be poured the following week.
Maryport Avenue and Silecroft Road
Crews were busy working on pouring concrete curbs and sidewalks along both the block of Maryport and Silecroft (from Maryport to Beaufort). Final paving is tentatively scheduled for June 3 and 4.
Ambleside Avenue between First and Second Streets
Ambleside Avenue project is almost complete! Some minor clean up and grass seeding needs to be done.
