Traffic Advisory: Roadwork Updates – First Street

The First Street road rebuild has begun. This week, Knappett Construction will be doing pre-construction preparation likely for the rest of this week.
During construction, First street will be closed to all traffic between Penrith and Dunsmuir Avenue with local traffic only to accommodate deliveries that use the lane. There will be no through vehicle traffic during construction, but pedestrian access will be maintained.
Please choose an alternate route. Access to the Cultural Centre parking lot will remain open during this time from the Penrith entrance or approaching from First street southbound.
All work on this project is estimated to be completed by late Spring.
This work has been funded in part by the Community Work Funds grant and the Linear Assets Replacement Reserve. The Linear Assets Replacement Reserve is continuously funded by frontage tax.
