Use Caution on Community Forest Trails
Posted on
The recent snow, wind and rain have resulted in many trees and branches falling onto trails in the Cumberland Community Forest and Coal Creek Historic Park.
Village crews will begin clearing these obstructions and hazards on high-use trails as time and weather permit beginning the week of January 7, 2013. Major trails will be cleared by priority status starting with trails closest to the Village centre.
Trail users are advised to use extra caution when in the parks and to report any major safety issues (snags, hazard trees, trail damage) to the Village at 250-336-2291 or to Kevin McPhedran, Outdoor Recreation Coordinator.
