Wellington Colliery Trail Upgrades Underway

Drainage and surfacing improvements to the Wellington Colliery Trail from Chinatown through No. 1 Japanese Town in Coal Creek Historic Park will be ongoing through the last two weeks of May. Please watch for equipment working and follow the direction of operators.
Materials will be stored at parking areas along the trail, including the Chinatown parking lot below Jumbo’s cabin. Please use the upper lot beside Jumbo’s Cabin as an alternate while work is ongoing.
Completion of trail improvements was identified as a park priority in the 2014 Coal Creek Historic Park Master Plan.
