Village of Cumberland Closed September 19th for National Day of Mourning

Following the September 13, 2022 announcements from the Federal and BC Provincial governments, the Village of Cumberland will be closed on Monday September 19th, 2022, to observe the national day of mourning in remembrance of Queen Elizabeth II.

All Village facilities, including Village Hall (office) and the Cumberland Recreation Centre will be closed. Participants of affected Cumberland Recreation programs will be refunded on a pro rated basis.

The regular Council meeting previously scheduled for Monday September 19th has been rescheduled to Wednesday, September 21st at 5:30pm. The Committee of the Whole scheduled for 2 pm has been cancelled.

Solid waste collection for Tuesday, September 20th will not be impacted and the next collection for the Village remains as previously scheduled.

Anyone wishing to offer their condolence in remembrance of Queen Elizabeth II have been invited by the Province to add their messages to a book of condolence.
