Poppy Flag Honours Veterans
Posted on
The Poppy Flag is flying at the Village office in tribute to Canadian Veterans and their families. The poppy serves as a symbol of Remembrance, honouring Canada’s Fallen Veterans.
Every year, Legions across the country coordinate the Poppy Campaign, raising funds for Veterans in their local communities. Poppy pins are available by donation in locations throughout Cumberland. Proceeds from the campaign support a wide range of services including housing, subsidies for food and medication, transportation assistance and much more.
Village facilities will be closed on November 11 in observance of Remembrance Day.
