Woodstove Festival November 6 – 8

Posted on

A music festival hosted by a local not-for-profit is taking place on November 6 – 8 in the downtown core and Village Park. Village staff have been working with the organizers to help ensure a safe and enjoyable event with minimal impact on residents.

While most venues will be indoors, this year’s festival will once again feature live entertainment at Village Square. There will be a camping area in Village Park and, new for 2026, a “food court” area on Second Street.

Second Street Closure

Second Street between Dunsmuir Avenue and the alleyway between Penrith and Dunsmuir Avenues will be closed to vehicle traffic from Friday, November 6 at 10:00 a.m. to Sunday, November 8 at 11:00 p.m. No entertainment has been programmed for that area however Council has granted a Noise Control Bylaw exemption to allow ambient sound from attendees and generators until 1:00 a.m. on the mornings of Saturday, November 7 and Sunday, November 8.

Village Square Entertainment

Village Square will feature an open-air venue that will be free to the public. Performance times will be constrained to what is allowed under the Village Noise Control Bylaw, ending by 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and by 8 p.m. on Sunday. For programming information, please refer to woodstovefestival.ca.

Village Park Camping

Two sections of Village Park will be used as sanctioned camping areas for festival attendees. These areas include the treed section in the northeast corner as well as portions of the adjacent gravel parking lot (near the BMX track) and Colliery Trail. The Park and Colliery Trail will remain accessible to the public at all times, and a camping management plan is in place to minimize any impacts, including refuse and noise.

Festival organizers have taken steps to encourage safety and respectful behaviour among participants and have partnered with community representatives to support these shared goals.
