Notice: Fire Rescue Training Exercise

Posted on

On Tuesday, November 3, 2026, from approximately 7:20 p.m. to 8:40 p.m. Cumberland Fire Rescue will be conducting planned training and system flushing in the Coal Valley area.

As part of winter preparedness, the Fire Service will be flowing a significant volume of water from fire apparatus at the top of the hill in the vicinity of Lindale, Kendal, Beaumont and Kentmere Avenues. This exercise will help to ensure Village water pumps operate correctly and will allow crews to practice important water supply operations.

What you may notice:

  • Fire apparatus engines and aerial ladder in the area
  • The sound of pumps running
  • Large volumes of water being discharged (primarily onto the road or designated areas)
  • Increased activity and lighting for a short period

The training is expected to last about 80 minutes. Crews will aim to minimize disruption and will secure the area for safety.

Your water service should not be interrupted. If you notice any unexpected issues with your water pressure or quality after the training, please contact the Village office or Fire Service. Thank you for your cooperation.
