“Moving forward with wastewater improvements is a top priority for the Village as we work to ensure we are operating responsibly and sustainably,” said Mayor Vickey Brown. “Today’s announcement enables us to take the wastewater upgrades a step further – to not only meet regulatory requirements, but also community goals around environmental protection and recreation.”

The Cumberland Wastewater Upgrades Project is currently in the procurement stage. Preliminary site work to prepare the area for construction has already been completed, and active construction is expected to begin in June this year.
