Contracts Awarded for Egremont Road and Allen Avenue Projects

Construction contracts for two underground services projects has been awarded to IWC Excavation Ltd.

  1. With with geotechnical investigation and design work completed in the fall of 2014, the Egremont Road storm sewer project is anticipated to see is first phase of construction in August 2015 with 260m of storm sewer trunk main installed between Derwent Avenue and Penrith Avenue. Work will include manholes, catch basins, services, and tie-ins. Future phases will take place in 2016 and 2017 with storm sewer installation and road reconstruction of Egremont Road from Penrith Avenue to Ulverston Avenue.
  2. Allen Avenue water main replacement for the blocks of Third to Fourth Street and Fifth to Sixth Street is anticipated to start in mid to late September 2015. The project consists of installation of 290m of water main, complete with all required fire hydrants, service renewals, and tie-ins.
