The Comox Valley Regional District (CVRD) is working with the City of Courtenay and the Village of Cumberland to launch the new Home Energy Navigator program. This program is designed to help homeowners understand the process to complete home energy upgrades and access rebates. This new program is a recommended action from the Residential Emissions and Reduction Action Plan, adopted by the CVRD Board in October 2023, to help look at ways to reduce residential greenhouse gas emissions in the Comox Valley.
If you live within one of the CVRD’s Electoral Areas, the City of Courtenay, or the Village of Cumberland, you will be able to access the Home Energy Navigator service free of charge on a first come first served basis.
The Home Energy Navigator service will provide:
- Virtual energy consultation and reports
- One on one consultation with an energy expert
- Help selecting a contractor
- Help reviewing quotes and EnerGuide reports
- Rebate information, including availability and amount of rebates
- Review of required documentation for application
- Verification of eligibility
- Regular check-ins to ensure progress when needed
- Assistance on an as needed basis
