Impacts of the Canada Post Strike
Posted on
Residents, property owners and businesses may experience delays in receiving notices and other types of correspondence through the mail from the Village of Cumberland due to the Canada Post strike.
Utility bills for the third quarter will be sent to property owners in mid-October and must be paid within 30 days to avoid a 10% penalty on outstanding amounts. If you do not receive your utility bill, please contact the Village Office at 250-336-2291 or info@cumberland.ca.
Sign up for eBilling for Utilities and Property Taxes
You can sign up for eBilling before bills and notices are issued on October 16 to receive future utility and property tax notices by email. Non-receipt of a utility bill notice does not exempt a property owner from late fees.
Payments
Cheque payments that are currently in the possession of Canada Post will be applied on the day they are received by the Village. See alternative payment options.
Suppliers and Vendors working with the Village
Please send all invoices electronically to ap@cumberland.ca. You can sign up for EFT payments directly to your bank account by contacting Accounts Payable at ap@cumberland.ca. Alternatively, vendors can arrange with Accounts Payable to pick up cheques at the Village Office.
