New Automatic Doors at Cumberland Recreation and Cultural Centre
Posted on
With thanks to the Rick Hansen Foundation new automatic doors have been installed at both Cumberland Recreation and the Cultural Centre, home of Cumberland’s OAP Branch #51 on the first floor and Moncrief Hall on the second floor. The entrance to the Cultural Centre was also improved with a new poured concrete ramp up to the doors.
These automatic doors make both facilities safer and more accessible, making it easier for everyone to access these buildings, including those using wheelchairs, walkers, and strollers.
The project was completed thanks to $20,000 in funding from the Rick Hansen Foundation, with the Village contributing $7,000 towards the project.
Brenda and son Cole were on hand to celebrate at Cumberland Recreation with Councillor Gwyn Sproule, Councillor Jesse Ketler, and Councillor Sean Sullivan.
