Cumberland Recreation Refund Policy

Activity Cancellations & Refunds

If we cancel the program…	You will receive a full refund.
If you request a refund at least five business days prior to the start date of the class	You will receive a full refund minus a $10 plus tax withdrawal fee.
If you request a refund fewer than five business days prior to class start up to 24 hours before the first class	You will receive a full refund minus a $10 plus tax withdrawal fee.
If you request a refund on the first day (or fewer than 24 hrs before first day), up to and including the third class/day	You will receive a pro-rated refund (must pay for the first day and all classes attended) minus a $10 plus tax withdrawal fee to account credit.
If you request a refund after the third class/day	Sorry, no refund.
If Cumberland Recreation requests an applicant be withdrawn due to lack of program compatibility	You will receive a pro-rated credit or refund with no withdrawal fee.

If we cancel the class	You will receive a full refund to account credit.
If you request to be withdrawn more than 24 hours before the class start time	You will receive a full refund to account credit.
If you request to be withdrawn fewer than 24 hours before the class start time	Sorry, no refund.

Notes:

Cancelling one program and registering for a different program during the same transaction is considered a “transfer” rather than a “withdrawal” and is not subject to a withdrawal fee. All other conditions (e.g. amount and type of refund) are as described in this policy.
Requests for program refunds contrary to this policy may be considered at the discretion of the recreation manager when substantiated in writing by a medical practitioner or nurse practitioner, or when accompanied by documentation showing that you have moved more than 30 km further from the Cumberland Recreation Centre than you were when you registered.

Memberships are non-refundable except in the following instances:

No more than 10 days after you purchase your membership: You may cancel your membership and receive a pro-rated refund or credit for the remaining time.
If you experience a physical, medical or mental disability that’s substantiated in writing by a medical professional or nurse practitioner: You may cancel your membership and receive a pro-rated refund or credit for the remaining time.
If you move more than 30 km further from the Cumberland Recreation Centre than you were when you purchased your membership and can provide supporting documentation: You may cancel your membership and receive a pro-rated refund or credit for the remaining time.
If there is a material and substantial change to the services included with your membership: You may cancel your membership and receive a pro-rated refund or credit for the remaining time.

Credits to your account are processed immediately.
Fees paid by Visa or Mastercard will be refunded to your credit card account within five (5) business days.
Fees paid by debit, cash or cheque will be refunded to account credit. A payout of account credit to a credit card or via electronic funds transfer (EFT) may be requested at any time.

Any exceptions to this policy will be verbally noted during the sale process or clearly described in the online program description.
