Report Forest Fires to 911 or *5555 on Your Cell

Posted on

The Cumberland Fire Department asks for your help to keep an eye out for smoke in the forest and to report forest fires immediately to 911 or *5555 on your cell phone. Reporting fires early is key to wildfire suppression.

Please be fire smart this summer:

  • Use chainsaws, lawnmowers, and dirt bikes carefully when it’s hot and dry
  • Don’t park trailers with hot wheel bearings or lay down hot motors in long dry grass. Cool first before storing away.
  • Distinguish cigarettes at home completely in a fire proof container.
  • Don’t smoke or light campfires in our forests – only in designated fire rings in campsites
