Snow and Ice Control in the Village

Posted on

Cumberland public works salts and plows on a priority route basis with emergency access routes in and out of the Village being top priority.

When it snows, please remember to park in your driveway or as far off of the traveled portion of the road as possible without blocking any part of a sidewalk. Truck plows need lots of room to maneuver and this will help the trucks pass safely. It will also help avoid damage to your vehicle.

When driving, it is important to keep your distance from truck plows and other machinery.

Residents and business owners are asked to keep your adjacent sidewalks clear of ice and snow. You can use ice-melting products on sidewalks, but please be sure to use products labeled “concrete-friendly”.

Drivers are reminded to drive to the conditions and reduce your speed. Road conditions can change quickly when temperatures are around the zero mark, so please be prepared for ice on the roads.

See our snow and ice page for more information about on snow and ice control in the Village, including sanding and snow plow priority routes.
