Temporary Trail Closure at the “Swamp Crossing”

The Village of Cumberland asks residents and trail users to avoid the South Wellington Colliery Trail at the Boundary Creek “Swamp Crossing” as work is completed to upgrade the trail and improve the creek crossing.
The crossing is located adjacent to the south end of Second Street, connecting the Village with the trail network near the Space Nugget trail.
Crews are working to improve the trail, build a footbridge, and armour waterworks infrastructure at the site. Upgrades are scheduled to be complete by mid-April.
Trail users are asked to use the yellow gate at the base of Sutton Road for gaining access to the trail network during this closure.
