Village Working with CVRD and TimberWest on Perseverence Creek Erosion
Posted on
Cumberland is working with the CVRD and TimberWest to provide a report to Island Health that identifies feasible options, costs and effectiveness of means to control bank collapse and introduction of sediment into Perseverance Creek.
This action is in response to receiving a hazard abatement order from Island Health’s medical health officer regarding the erosion along the banks of Perseverance Creek. This erosion may have been a contributing factor to the boil water advisories for users of the Comox Valley water system issued last winter.
